Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Dynamical Systems at EPFL Lausanne

The School of Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) at EPFL -Lausanne seeks to appoint a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Mathematics with research interests in the theory of dynamical systems, broadly construed. Indicative areas of interest include, but are not limited to: algebraic/analytical dynamics, dynamics and geometry, ergodic theory, locally homogeneous spaces.

The Italian Mathematical Union has recently approved our application for the creation of “Gruppo UMI DinAmicI”, a unit inside the Union. The activities of the group will officially start on September, 1st.

First of all we will have to elect the official administrative organs of the group. We will let you know when the elections take place.

PhD and postdoc positions at Bath and Utrecht

A PhD position in the semiclassical theory of subelliptic operators is being advertised at the University of Bath (UK). The prospective advisor is Véronique Fischer. The student will be part of the project titled “Quantum Limits for sub-elliptic operators“:
As part of the same project there is also a call for Postdoc (Research Associate):
The deadline for both applications is Sunday, September 13, 2020.

Another position is being advertised in contact and symplectic topology at the University of Utrecht (NL).  The prospective advisor is Álvaro del Pino. The student will be part of the project “Tangent distributions and h-principles“:
The deadline for the application is Saturday, August 1, 2020.

Call for PhD and professor in Dynamical Systems at the University of Groningen

The Bernoulli Institute of the University of Groningen (NL) is advertising a 4-year PhD position in dynamical systems, to work on the combination of multi-timescale dynamical systems and networks. The application deadline is August 31, for more information please refer to

There is also a call for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) or (preferably) Associate Professor, with a strong track record in Dynamical Systems. The deadline for the application is August 16. For more information please refer to

Both positions will be embedded in the Dynamical Systems, Geometry and Mathematical Physics group.
