The Department of Mathematics of Università di Pisa has opened a call for one 2-year postdoctoral position denominated “Regular and stochastic behaviour in dynamical systems: theory, applications, and interactions with other areas of Mathematics”.

The position is expected to start in January 2022. Applicants must hold a Ph.D.

The deadline for application is November 25, 2021 at 1pm (Italian local time). The interview will be online on December 6, 2021 at 9am (Italian local time).

A Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato di tipo A (RTD-A, non-tenured three-year) position, carrying a reduced teaching load, has been announced by the University of Pisa for the study of mathematical methods for climate science.

In the call you can find it classified as MAT05 (Mathematical Analysis) but the research to be done is expected to involve other areas of mathematics and science.

Prof. Corinna Ulcigrai (University of Zürich) is currently advertising a 2-year postdoc position (possibly +1 year), starting in September 2022 (different starting dates can be negotiated).

The School of Mathematical Sciences at Tel Aviv University invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship in symplectic topology and related fields. The School has a strong and diverse geometry and topology group specialising in symplectic geometry and topology, symplectic group actions, mirror symmetry and algebraic geometry, billiards and convexity, dynamics, spectral geometry. 

The position starts on October 1, 2022. Its duration is two years with a possible extension to the third year. Applications for a shorter period (1-3 semesters) will be considered as well. The applicants have to complete their Ph. D. degree by September 30, 2022 but not earlier than October 1, 2018.

The Mathematics Department at the University of Surrey (UK) is advertising a full-time Research Fellow position on Coupled Quantum-Classical Dynamics.

High quality candidates from Applied Mathematics or Theoretical Physics (or related areas) with familiarity with numerical methods and a solid background in quantum and classical mechanics are particularly sought.

At the basis of measurement theory, the interaction of classical and quantum degrees of freedom has attracted much attention in several other fields, ranging from mathematics to physics and chemistry. Different levels of scientific capabilities will be engaged: on the one hand, the Fellow will investigate the mathematical features of QC coupling in both reversible and irreversible regimes; on the other hand, they will perform numerical simulations to study decoherence dynamics and other physical effects of QC correlations.

The Department of Mathematics of Università di Bologna has opened a call for two 1-year postdoctoral positions denominated “Starting postdoctoral position in Mathematics and Applications in Sciences, Social Sciences and Engineering”.

The positions are open to all candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or Economics, with a preference for applicants who have obtained their Ph.D.’s in recent years.  They are “open” positions in that all research areas that are currently represented in the Department will be considered (see the announcement for a list of them).
