Associate professorship in Mathematical Physics at Università di Pisa

Under the 2023-2027 Department of Excellence project, the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pisa seeks to hire an outstanding associated professor (with tenure) to strengthen the growing research and educational activities of its Mathematical Physics research sector, broadly defined, with the start date of October 1, 2024. The successful candidate will carry out research of international relevance and significance, with a particular emphasis on the studies of complex systems in the physical and life sciences, both from the theoretical and applied viewpoints, including, but not limited to, studies of dynamical systems and partial differential equations arising in the above contexts. This position is co-funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.

Job duties include publishing articles of interest to the mathematical physics and applied mathematics community, both in generalist and specialized journals, and teaching basic mathematics courses across the university, as well as advanced courses within the scope of the mathematical physics sector at the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels. Faculty are expected to attend and present their findings at various national and international conferences and professional meetings.
